Help to make Disciples for our Lord Jesus! (Matthew 28:18-20) |

After his Resurrection, Jesus came the eleven disciples and said to them: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Mathew 28: 18-20). This message is known among the Christians as The Great Commission of the Lord to make disciples. However, the church has changed its emphasis from making disciples to getting people born again, leaving discipleship for the “mature”. They freely chose to make only converts. Without saying that being born again and living eternally with Jesus is not important, it’s essential, we’re saying that we have changed the message from the way Jesus taught it. We have reduced the definition of “born again” to the point that in our society today, it has become socially popular to say we’re born again to gain acceptance in certain circles, while Jesus instructed us to make disciples who become followers of Christ. When we ask people to accept Jesus as their Savior, we need to teach them that this is a total commitment of one’s life to the Lord. It means becoming a disciple of Jesus, so that we will enjoy not only the everlasting life in the world to come but also the abundant life in this world, as His promise in John 10: 10. This is our purpose at “JDU” Jesus Disciples Unity. We also have the objective to promote Him in sharing to others His plan of redeeming mankind lost with Adam and Eve. About 2000 years ago, He came to this earth and paid for us all by His death, burial and resurrection, and they have witnessed that. That's good news. Just believe Him and you will be saved.
